Impact Resistant Manifold Blocks
When material baling encounters hard resistance, hydraulic systems often face huge pressure peaks. Our baler hydraulic power pack adopts forged valve blocks and integrated pressure relief components, which can resist these hydraulic impacts. This can prevent the hydraulic pipelines from developing cracks due to fatigue and protect the internal seals from failure caused by sudden pressure surges. By stabilizing the internal fluid dynamics, we make sure that the hydraulic circuit can maintain long-term stability in harsh metal or cardboard packaging cycles.

Zero-Drift Pressure Control
Our baler hydraulic power pack can maintain precise pressure during critical bundling stages to achieve uniform packaging density. High precision one-way valves and industrial grade cartridge valves can make the pressure head remain stationary and have zero drift under full load conditions. This pressure regulation ability prevents compressed materials from expanding before being tied and fixed, producing more compact and regular shaped packages, and reducing the risk of package dispersion during transportation and storage.
Applications of the Baler Hydraulic Power Pack

In the process of scrap metal processing, loose steel plates, aluminum materials, copper materials, and metal scraps have large volumes and irregular shapes. The hydraulic power pack provides stable pressure for the balers, compressing these metal materials into high-density regular packaging blocks for centralized storage and subsequent smelting processing. This can improve the efficiency of scrap metal recycling and reduce handling and logistics costs.

Paper mills, packaging factories, and logistics warehouses generate a large amount of waste paper, cardboard, and packaging materials. These materials will occupy a large amount of space when not compressed. The hydraulic power pack drives the baler, applying continuous pressure to the waste paper to form compact paper packages, which are convenient for stacking, transportation, and entry into the recycled paper production process.

Plastic waste such as plastic bottles and plastic films have the characteristics of large volume and light weight. Directly stacking will increase the storage and transportation burden. And plastic often tends to expand immediately after compression. The baler hydraulic power pack can provide continuous compression power, making plastic waste form compact blocks, reducing volume and facilitating classification and processing.

Clothing factories, textile mills and recycled fiber enterprises generate a large amount of fabric scraps and fiber waste, which are loose and prone to accumulation. By driving the baler with a hydraulic power pack, textile waste can be compressed into high-density bales for easy storage, transportation, and reuse. Stable hydraulic power helps maintain consistent block sizes, improve the efficiency of subsequent processing, and reduce the difficulty of manual handling.

In pastures and agricultural processing, hay, straw, and feed need to be compressed into regular shapes for transportation and storage. The hydraulic power pack provides power to the baler, making these loose agricultural materials to be formed into compact blocks for easy loading and unloading and long-term storage. This can improve space utilization and facilitate mechanized transportation and feed management.

The selection of hydraulic oil mainly depends on the temperature of your working environment. Normally, ISO VG 46 hydraulic oil is the standard configuration for most power packers. If the equipment is operating in cold weather, it is recommended that you use ISO VG 32 hydraulic oil with a lower viscosity. Under continuous high-temperature or heavy-load conditions, ISO VG 68 hydraulic oil can provide better oil film strength and lubrication protection.
Loose rebound of the package usually means insufficient compression force holding time or insufficient holding pressure. It may be due to internal leakage in the hydraulic pipeline, wear of the cylinder seal ring causing pressure leakage, or the hydraulic valve core being stuck and unable to lock the pressure. You can check whether there is any crawling phenomenon in the hydraulic cylinder and the pressure holding performance of the system.
This type of noise is usually caused by air entering the hydraulic circuit, leading to cavitation. Common reasons include low oil level in the tank, which leads to air being sucked into the suction port, or the suction filter being clogged with impurities. You should immediately shut down the machine and check the oil level, seals and filter elements. Long term cavitation can severely wear down the internal components of hydraulic pumps, leading to a decrease in pressure.
After a long shutdown, the hydraulic oil temperature decreases, viscosity increases, and fluidity deteriorates. You can run the power pack at no load for 2-5 minutes to let the oil temperature rise. In a low-temperature environment, you may consider installing a hydraulic oil heating device. Long term shutdowns may also cause air to enter the hydraulic oil circuit. You can start the power pack to run in a no-load cycle several times, allowing the hydraulic oil to flow fully and exhaust the air. In addition, you can also check whether the filter is clogged, and whether there is wear inside the pump and valve.
What is the Baler Hydraulic Power Pack?
The baler hydraulic power pack is a device that provides hydraulic power to balers for materials such as scrap metal, paper, and plastic. It drives a hydraulic pump through a hydraulic motor to generate high-pressure oil, which flows to the hydraulic cylinder through a valve group to drive the baling machine to perform actions such as compression, clamping and ejection.
Maintenance Guide for Baler Hydraulic Power Pack
Check the Hydraulic Oil Level and Condition
You need to regularly check if the oil tank level is within the calibration range and replenish the appropriate type of hydraulic oil in time. At the same time, observe the color, odor and transparency of the hydraulic oil.
If the hydraulic oil becomes emulsified, darkens in color or has an unpleasant smell, it indicates that the oil has deteriorated or been contaminated. You must replace it immediately to avoid affecting the normal operation of the pump and valve.
Regular Replacement of the Filtration System
The filter in the hydraulic system is used to remove impurities. And after long-term use, it will gradually become clogged, affecting the flow of oil. After the baler hydraulic power pack has been in operation for the first 100 hours, you should replace the return filter to remove the tiny particles that were left over during the system assembly.
After that, depending on the dust concentration in the working environment, you can replace the filter element every 1,000 to 1,500 hours. At the same time, you should also pay attention to cleaning the oil-absorbing filter screen.
Inspect the Pipelines, Joints and Sealing Conditions
The vibration during the baling process may cause the hydraulic fittings to loosen. Therefore, you should regularly check for any oil leakage marks at the connections of all pipes and hoses, and also look for signs of wear or bulging on the high-pressure hoses. Timely tighten the joints or replace the relevant components to prevent pressure loss and system failure.
Monitor Operating Temperature and Equipment Status
During the operation of the baler hydraulic power pack, you should pay attention to observing the oil temperature, noise, and vibration. Abnormal temperature can cause a decrease in oil performance. Abnormal noise or vibration may indicate that there is wear and tear in the pump or the motor. Through daily inspections and operational monitoring, you can detect system issues in advance and extend their lifespan.
Tips to Reduce Overheating of Baler Hydraulic Power Pack
Use Hydraulic Oil with Appropriate Viscosity
The viscosity of hydraulic oil has a direct impact on system temperature. If the viscosity of hydraulic oil is too high, it will increase flow resistance and generate more heat. If the hydraulic oil is too thin, it will increase internal leakage and cause the system temperature to rise faster.
Choosing hydraulic oil that meets the environmental temperature and equipment operating conditions can reduce internal friction losses and maintain the stable temperature of the power pack during long-term baling cycles.
Make Sure the Fuel Tank and Cooling Device have Sufficient Heat Dissipation Capacity
The fuel tank is used to store hydraulic oil and also has the function of heat dissipation. If the fuel tank capacity is too small and there is no cooling device, the system heat cannot be dissipated in time, which will cause the oil temperature to keep rising. A reasonable fuel tank capacity and the installation of a cooling system can help improve the heat dissipation efficiency. At the same time, you also need to make sure that there are no obstructions around the fuel tank and that the air circulation is good.
Reasonably Set the System Pressure
When the system pressure is set much higher than the actual load demand, the excess hydraulic oil will flow back through the relief valve, generating a large amount of heat. You should adjust the set pressure according to the actual load of the packaging machine, so that the output of the hydraulic pump matches the load. This can reduce energy waste and lower heat generation.
Regularly Check the Condition of the Cooler and Heat Dissipation Components
The working environment of the baling machine is usually filled with paper scraps and dust, which can easily accumulate on the fins of the air-cooled radiator. If the surface of the cooler or radiator becomes covered with dust or gets clogged, it will reduce the heat dissipation efficiency and cause the system temperature to gradually rise.
You can regularly use compressed air to blow the radiator from the inside out to clean the surface of the radiator and keep smooth air circulation, which helps the hydraulic oil continuously release heat.
Avoid Prolonged and Continuous Full Load Operation
During the continuous high load compression process of the baler, the hydraulic system will generate a high amount of heat. After the baler hydraulic power pack has been operating continuously for a period of time, you can set aside a 10-15 minute break to allow the hydraulic system to cool down, thereby reducing the temperature of the motor, pump body and hydraulic oil.
