Automatic Pressure Compensation

Our filter press hydraulic power pack utilizes an electric contact pressure gauge to establish a closed-loop compression system. When the system pressure drops to the preset lower limit, the hydraulic pump automatically starts to replenish the pressure. When the pressure rises back to the upper limit, the pump automatically stops. This makes the filter plate always in a tightly pressed state, while avoiding continuous operation of the pump and reducing energy consumption.

High-Standard Filtration System

High-Standard Filtration System

The particles in the hydraulic oil can cause the valve core to get stuck and lead to pump damage. Our filter press hydraulic power pack is equipped with a fully sealed oil tank with integrated air breathers, a 100 mesh oil suction filter, and a <10 μm return oil filter with a clogging indicator. This can maintain hydraulic oil within NAS Class 8 cleanliness standards, and the filter press hydraulic power pack can work stably for a long time in dusty conditions.

Long-Lasting Static Pressure Retention

The long-cycle filtration requires excellent pressure retention capability during the pump shutdown period. During the shutdown and pressure maintenance period of the filter press, the pressure holding capacity depends on the performance of the hydraulic check valve and the cylinder seal. Our filter press hydraulic power pack uses a pilot operated hydraulic one-way valve and polyurethane seals to achieve near zero internal leakage. This can keep the system pressure drop within 1.5 MPa after 8 hours of pump shutdown.

When does the Filter Press Hydraulic Power Pack need to be Integrated with an Air or Water Cooling System?

When the filtration cycle frequency is high and the hydraulic oil cannot be fully cooled in the oil tank, you must install a cooling system. If your process requires more than four cycles per hour or operation at environmental temperatures exceeding 40 °C, we recommend installing an integrated heat exchanger. This can prevent seal aging and maintain oil viscosity, keeping the service life of internal hydraulic components.

What Basic Debugging is Required after the Initial Installation of the Filter Press Hydraulic Power Pack?

You need to first check the oil level and the sealing condition of the pipeline. Then start the equipment with no load to test the oil circuit cycle, and gradually increase the pressure to test the pressure holding performance.

Why is the Manifold of the Filter Press Hydraulic Power Pack made of Steel or Ductile Iron instead of Aluminum?

Under heavy load conditions such as 31.5 MPa, aluminum hydraulic manifolds are prone to thread deformation and fatigue cracks over time. High strength ductile iron or forged steel hydraulic manifolds can maintain structural integrity under high-frequency high-pressure cycles. This can prevent hydraulic power pack leakage caused by manifold deformation, keeping its long-term reliable operation.

When does the Filter Press Hydraulic Power Pack need to be Equipped with an Accumulator?

For processes that require maintaining stable high pressure over a long filtration cycle, it is recommended to equip an accumulator. It can store energy as a reserve. Without frequently restarting the motor, the accumulator continuously replenishes pressure to compensate for the minor internal leakage and the volume contraction of the oil caused by temperature differences, thereby preventing the filter plate from loosening. This can reduce the wear of the pump and the motor, and also lower the noise during the holding pressure stage.

What is the Filter Press Hydraulic Power Pack?

The filter press hydraulic power package is a dedicated hydraulic power supply device specifically designed for the filter press. It is mainly composed of a driving motor, a hydraulic pump, an oil tank, a valve group and other components. By converting mechanical energy into hydraulic energy, the hydraulic power pack drives the hydraulic cylinder of the filter press to complete actions such as pressing and holding the filter plate.

How does the Filter Press Hydraulic Power Pack Work?

The working process of the filter press hydraulic power pack mainly consists of three stages: clamping, pressure holding, and unclamping.

Clamping Stage

During the clamping stage, the motor starts to drive the hydraulic pump to operate. The hydraulic pump sucks in the hydraulic oil from the oil tank and pressurizes it before delivering it to the system pipelines.

The pressure oil is guided by the directional control valve to the rodless chamber of the hydraulic cylinder, causing the piston rod to extend outward, thereby driving the filter head plate to gradually press the filter plate stack towards the tail plate. When the system pressure reaches the set value, the motor and the hydraulic pump will stop working and maintain the pressure.

Pressure Holding Stage

In the pressure holding stage, in order to maintain the clamping force from decreasing, the hydraulic power pack adopts an electric contact pressure automatic control circuit to monitor the pressure in real time.

When the system pressure drops to the lower limit set value due to leakage, the control system activates the motor and the hydraulic pump replenishes the pressure. When the pressure rises to the upper limit set value, the motor is powered off again and the pump stops outputting. This keeps the sealing surface of the filter plate always maintained with sufficient clamping force to prevent material leakage.

Unclamping Stage

During the unclamping stage, the valve core of the directional control valve switches position, and high-pressure oil enters the rod chamber of the hydraulic cylinder. At the same time, the hydraulic oil in the rodless chamber flows back to the oil tank.

The piston rod retracts backwards under the push of pressure oil, driving the filter head plate to return to its initial position, and the filter plate stack is then released. At this point, a work cycle has been completed.

Installation and Basic Debugging Guide for the Filter Press Hydraulic Power Pack

Installation Preparation and System Check

First, you need to place the hydraulic power unit on a concrete or other stable and flat surface. Make sure there is sufficient space around for connecting the filter press and conducting maintenance and repair work. Check if the supporting pipelines, electrical circuits, and control signal lines are complete.

When connecting the hydraulic oil pipes, make sure that all the joints are securely fastened and reliable, and that there are no bends in the pipelines. The high-pressure oil pipe and the low-pressure return oil pipe must be installed properly to avoid crossing. When making electrical connections, you should follow the power specifications and system requirements to make sure good grounding, stable voltage, and no risk of short circuits.

No Load Start and Exhaust

After the installation check is completed, you need to perform a no-load startup. First, inject clean hydraulic oil that meets the viscosity grade requirements, and confirm that the oil level is within the specified range. Then, power on and start the hydraulic power pack, causing the hydraulic pump to start circulating oil.

Observe whether the pump, valves, and oil circuit are operating normally, and whether the pressure gauge reading is steadily increasing. And check whether there are any leaks or abnormal noises at each hydraulic fitting. If any abnormalities are found, you should stop the power pack immediately for troubleshooting.

At this stage, you should also perform oil circuit exhaust operation to remove residual air in the system and avoid air affecting pump operation.

Gradual Pressurization and Control Function Testing

After the no-load cycle is normal, you can gradually increase the pressure of the hydraulic system. Without connecting the filter press, you can gradually increase the system pressure through the control system or pressure regulating device, allowing it to slowly approach the set pressure required for the operation of the filter press. You need to confirm whether the pressure control circuit correctly starts and stops the pump within the set upper and lower limits.

Linkage Debugging with the Filter Press

After completing the above basic tests, you can connect the hydraulic power pack to the main body of the filter press for debugging. Connect the output pipeline of the hydraulic power pack to the hydraulic cylinders, control valves and other components of the filter press.

Then operate the filter press to perform actions such as clamping, pressing, holding, and releasing the filter plates. You need to observe whether the hydraulic cylinder responds normally and operates smoothly.
