The hydraulic power pack for CNC machines can establish stable system pressure in milliseconds by using fast response logic valves and optimized internal flow channels. This can minimize the delay in automatic tool changing and worktable exchange processes, shorten the time of each machining cycle, and thus improve the operating efficiency of the machine tool.

On-Demand Energy Supply
The intelligent servo driven hydraulic power pack for CNC machines can adjust the motor speed and output flow in real time according to the actual pressure requirements of the machining cycle. This on-demand energy supply method reduces energy consumption during periods of no load and holding pressure. At the same time, this can also reduce noise, minimize heat generation, extend component lifespan, and lower your long-term operating costs.
Anti-Vibration
The pressure pulsation and mechanical vibration inside the hydraulic system may be transmitted to the CNC machine, affecting cutting stability and workpiece surface finish. The hydraulic power pack for CNC machine employs a balanced pump and vibration-damping brackets to isolate and eliminate the vibrations during operation. This makes the hydraulic power delivered to the chuck and spindles smoother, reduces machining errors, and protects the machine from wear caused by vibration.

Applications of the Hydraulic Power Pack for CNC Machine

CNC turning requires a constant and adjustable gripping force to keep the workpiece is securely fixed without causing any deformation on the surface. The hydraulic power pack for CNC machine provides the stable pressure needed for hydraulic chucks and collets to maintain micron-level centering accuracy. This is very crucial in high-speed processing, as the centrifugal force must be counteracted by a stable hydraulic clamping force, thereby keeping the consistency of the parts throughout the entire production process.

The hydraulic power pack for CNC machine has been optimized for the automatic tool changers. It can quickly respond to the action requirements of tool release, tool magazine rotation and spindle positioning. And by using high flow manifold, we have minimized the downtime during tool changes.

In working conditions that require tailstock support or long workpiece processing, the hydraulic power pack for CNC machine can drive the tailstock cylinder or processing support device to make sure the stability of the workpiece during cutting. The integrated pressure regulating valves can finely adjust the supporting force, preventing long workpieces from bending or vibrating under cutting loads.

Our power pack is equipped with standard industrial-grade solenoid valves, offering multiple voltage options. These can be directly connected to the output terminal of your CNC machine’s PLC. We will also provide wiring diagrams for the pressure switch and the oil level sensor, allowing the machine control system to monitor the hydraulic status in real time and triggering an emergency stop when an abnormality is detected.
We recommend using ISO VG 32 or VG 46 anti-wear hydraulic oil. ISO VG 32 hydraulic oil is suitable for cooler environments. ISO VG 46 hydraulic oil has better viscosity stability at high temperatures. Using the appropriate grade of hydraulic oil can keep a stable system pressure and extend the service life of the hydraulic pump and seals.
We have integrated rapid-response accumulators and precise pressure regulating valves into the hydraulic power pack for CNC machine. This can compensate for the instantaneous flow demand during rapid tool change and prevent pressure drop that may cause tool unclamping errors. During multi-axis movement, the system can also make sure that the clamping force remains constant.
If the hydraulic hose is bent or rubs against other components, it may become damaged and result in oil leakage. Loose hydraulic pipeline joints or aging or damaged seals can also cause oil leakage. You need to inspect the pipes and the sealing components.
You need to regularly check and clean the coolant return pipe under the spindle to prevent debris from clogging and causing coolant to seep into the hydraulic system. At the same time, you should also regularly check the seals of the hydraulic power pack and replace damaged seals in time to prevent contact between the coolant and hydraulic oil.
What is the Hydraulic Power Pack for CNC Machine?

The hydraulic power pack for CNC machines is an independent hydraulic power system specifically designed for CNC machines. It can convert electrical energy into hydraulic energy, providing stable and controllable power for various hydraulic drive components of the machine tool.
The hydraulic power pack for CNC machines usually consists of components such as motors, hydraulic pumps, oil tanks, and control valve groups. It can drive the movements of components such as hydraulic chucks, fixtures, automatic tool changers, tailstock, etc.
Why do CNC Machines need Hydraulic Power Packs?

Provide a Huge and Stable Clamping Force
In high-speed and heavy cutting operations, the workpiece must be firmly clamped. The hydraulic power pack can generate a continuous and high-pressure clamping force in a compact space, resisting powerful cutting forces.
Compared to mechanical or pneumatic clamping systems, the pressure output and variation of hydraulic systems have less impact on the load and can prevent workpiece displacement or vibration. This can improve processing stability and product consistency.
Achieve Rapid and Smooth Automated Actions
The automation functions of CNC machines, such as automatic tool changing, tool magazine rotation, tailstock movement, spindle positioning, or worktable exchange, all require the execution mechanism to quickly and accurately position.
The hydraulic power pack can provide a high power density, drive these components to complete start stop and direction change in a very short time, and run smoothly. This can improve production efficiency.
Convenient for Centralized Control and Adjustment
The hydraulic power pack can be integrated with the control system of CNC machines through solenoid valve groups. This makes you centrally control all hydraulic actions. And by adjusting the pressure and flow, you can accurately control the speed and force of the actuator, meeting various operational requirements.
Overload Protection and Durability
The hydraulic system has buffering and overload protection capabilities. And it is capable of withstanding frequent start-stop operations and load impacts. With proper maintenance, the components of the hydraulic power pack have a long service life and high reliability. They can adapt to the harsh working conditions of continuous and heavy loads in the workshop.
Maintenance of the Hydraulic Power Pack for CNC Machine

Regularly Check the Condition of the Hydraulic Oil
Before each use, you need to check whether the oil level in the tank is within the specified range and observe if there are any signs of contamination or oxidation. If the hydraulic oil appears milky white, it indicates that water has entered the hydraulic oil. If the hydraulic oil turns black and has bubbles, it indicates that air has been mixed into the hydraulic oil. You need to replace the hydraulic oil immediately.
In addition, you can conduct viscosity, acid value, moisture, and contamination testing on the oil every six months to one year. This can accurately determine the condition of the oil. You need to replace all hydraulic oil according to the recommended cycle by the manufacturer. Do not only replenish hydraulic oil without replacing it.
Keep the Filtration System Clean
The newly installed hydraulic power unit may contain some metal debris, welding slag and other impurities during the production and installation process. We suggest that you replace the filter element of the return oil filter after the initial 200 hour break in period. This can prevent these impurities from causing wear to components such as pumps and valves as the hydraulic oil circulates within the system.
After that, you can replace the hydraulic oil about every 2,000 hours of operation of the power pack. At the same time, regularly monitoring the blockage indicator can allow you to take measures before pollutants cause the valve core to get stuck or the pump to wear out.
Monitoring System Temperature
Overheating of the hydraulic system can cause seal failure and CNC machine accuracy drift. You need to make sure that the cooling fins of the air cooler or heat exchanger are free from dust. Meanwhile, if the hydraulic oil temperature continues to overheat, its viscosity will decrease, leading to internal leakage and reduced response speed.
Leak Detection
High frequency CNC machining cycles can generate vibrations. The hose and joint are the most prone locations for hydraulic power packs to leak. You can conduct inspections of all connections, hoses and seals every week, tighten loose joints, and replace worn hoses.
Monitor Abnormal Noise and Vibration
You need to pay attention to the sound of the hydraulic power pack during operation. Abnormal noise or vibration may indicate issues such as cavitation, blockage, or component wear. At the same time, you also need to make sure that the motor and the pump coupling are properly aligned, and check whether the vibration damping bracket is in good condition.
Keep Good Maintenance Records
You can create a maintenance log to record the hydraulic oil replacement time, filter replacement date, and any issues discovered during inspection. This will help you understand the operating condition of the hydraulic power pack and formulate future maintenance plans.
